It all begins with our Gordon Setter Rescue committee organized by TBD. Rescue dogs are given a home until they are ready to move to their new home. The rescue committee contact helps with locating Gordon Setters that are in need and organizes a network of volunteers to transport the dogs to/from their temporary home.

The dogs are bathed, groomed, and provided with a vet health check by our club. Their social behavior is evaluated along with their obedience skills. Gradually their personality shines through, they gain confidence in their surroundings and companions.

After several weeks or months, the rescue committee has helped nurture the dogs to good health, along with retraining of appropriate social behaviors with other dogs and people. It is now time to make contacts to determine the proper placement for each particular recue Gordon Setter.

Our clubs Rescue program is a major activity each year requiring lots of care as well as funding. Donations for our Rescue fund are always appreciated and put to good use.
